According to IL, there are only five uncommitted four stars (four defenders and one midfielder - Barrett Mullaly who is ranked 88th and is the only Top 100 player who hasn't chosen a school). Perhaps schools don't view these players the same way the recruiting services do? Or maybe they really just need to take their time to decide. To Jeremey's point about the portal, I have to imagine that is part of the plan for the Orange. Or maybe they are waiting a bit to see if any players emerge over the spring high school season? SU did just bring in three "off-cycle" recruits this summer, plus the flip from BU. It feels like if teams miss out on their top target, they may want to wait and see, rather than take in a player they are not totally sold on? These kids still have two seasons left of high school lacrosse to play, after all. Some other teams have rather small recruiting classes along with SU (8). Maryland (7), UVA and Duke (6) all have fewer commits than the Orange. In general, outside of UNC, Notre Dame, Hopkins and Harvard, I don't think many top teams have classes in the double digits. These teams have to fill out their rosters somehow ... just curious if they are keeping spots open for transfers, late bloomers or flips? Probably all of the above. Should be interesting to watch it unfold.
