I've been thinking for awhile that he could AT LEAST be a clipboard holder in the NFL. 247 has taken note of his early-season exploits:
"Garrett Shrader, QB, Syracuse
The best dual-threat QB in college football right now? It’s likely Shrader, whose play is the biggest reason Syracuse sits at 4-0. Shrader is doing everything well right now. He’s completing a career-high 66.7% of his passes. He’s averaging a career-high 9 yards per attempt. He’s averaging a career high 6.9 yards per carry. If Syracuse needs Shrader to throw, as he did for 286 yards against Army, he’s done so capably. If Syracuse needs him to run, like he did for 195 yards against Purdue, he’ll put a defense into a tizzy. Can Syracuse keep up this momentum in ACC play? We'll see. But Shrader has established himself the last two years as one of the better QBs in all of college football."
