So if we beat Florida do we jump Duke?
I'd say probably not. Duke has beaten Michigan St (neutral, MSG), Michigan and Kansas (neutral), and let's throw Belmont in there as well (at home).
I'm fine with saying Florida is better than any of those teams, but it would be a win at home, and Duke would have 4 wins better than our next best win, probably.
Just took a look at the kenpom rankings, here is how the teams we've both played are ordered. (Including Florida, since the whole question was based on us beating them)
8) Florida
13) Kansas
14) Michigan State
17) Belmont
32) Michigan
36) Stanford
39) Va Tech
81) Davidson
82) Tennessee
207) Albany
221) Presbyterian
240) Manhattan
251) Fordham
280) Colgate
Belmont does seem a tad high at 17, but I think they are possibly one of the 30 best teams in the country. It's entirely possible beating 13 on a neutral site is more impressive than beating 8 at home, in fact I think it probably is.
I was pretty surprised to see both teams we beat last week inside the top 40, perhaps I underestimated them a little. But still, if you're comparing resumes, Duke would still have the better one.
