1) we stunk, and we cruised.
2) Nova stinks, Pitt stinks, JB solidifies diety status and we ld reflect on how lucky we have been to have him for 36 years.
3) cant believe JB told these guys pre-season they are built for a championship. Tells you what he expects. not the usual coach speak.
4) Most impressive play of the year by Dion, resulted in a foul. He busted his but back on a Nova break, when we were up about 20, and almost broke up a pass. Not a lot of players in college would do that, let alone a star, let alone a former lazy head case. Well done Dion, well done.

Where did you hear #3? Was it stated during the game? (I had the sound on low and was a little distracted by other people.)

I also thought we played a terrible game and couldn't figure out how we were up by 20. BUT - I'll take it!

Yes.

Most impressive thing I saw all night was Dion getting up on a bad ankle and chest bumping Scoop at the buzzer in the first half. If that doesnt tell you about team chemistry...
I also read his lips at the end of the game and he yelled over to another player (not sure who) "pick ya head up man"

Jimmy Dykes on the halftime show said he talked to Scoop and Scoop said right before the season started JB had a team meeting and told the team that they are built to win a national championship; Scoop added that it's the first time he'd hear JB say something like that (even during the Wes year, when he said how good we'd be).

#1 is interesting. I don't think we've seen a "good" game yet. This team has the ability to play poorly offensively and win easily vs. solid teams; very rare trait. The good thing is that if the defense stays this aggressive we'll be in great shape; playing good D is just about effort.

This team reminds me a little bit of the 2004 uconn team. Not an exact parallel, but in the way that we have so many great college players on the team.

I really don't see a swoon coming. We aren't going to roll every night, and there will be lapses in individual games, but I'm starting to believe that 17-1 is more likely than not.

Like most of you, for me the eye test says its our defense that makes us elite with our offense more unpredictable but anybody else notice how kenpom has our offense as #3 and defense as #11?

Southerland, when he clanked a free throw after what looked to be a pretty flagrant foul.

Got some good teammates on this group; hope it continues.

yeah, the other thing about that is that he told it to the players but kind of kept it under his hat elsewhere. In 09-10, he was outspoken before the season about how good he thought they were.

Defensive rebounding efficiency depresses that ranking, and it should. The "D" in and of itself has been dominating all year and is directly responsible for the ranking of the O that high - i.e. transition scoring off of TO and steals.
