Getting jobbed on Shraders goal line efforts and Dino not going for three, plus a missed XP cost us 11 points.

Somehow with only 150 yards passing we should have scored over forty yesterday. Crazy to think about.

Also, deciding the first 25 minutes of the game, passing wasnt going to be needed didn't help things.

The Shrader screw job evened out.
The D had FSU pinned back at the 1.
They got a 3 and out and we got the ball at the FSU 49 and got that TD right back.

So I don’t consider losing that 7 points much of a screw job all it cost us was 2 minutes in time as FSU went 3 and out.

We left a lot of points though.
The FG in the first.
Missed XP.
The last possession of the half we should have gotten a FG attempt.
We left atleast 7 points on the field.
Then the last red zone possession we played conservatively and not for a TD.

If Dino gets 7 on that 4th no one says anything. It cracks me up. People blame Dino when not aggressive and blame him when he is. You don't go into FSU and be satisfied with field goals and think you win. A decent sized board contingent did not even think it would be a game or that Shrader could even throw a football. Now that it was and he did, let's blame Dino for going for it. The time management issue is on him, that's it. The roughing call was lame, Wax not pushing the QB out of bounds was ripple effect of the roughing call and the no whistle on the hold on the last drive was egregious. That said play better if we don't want calls influencing end games.

I didn't mind going for it on either 4th, but they made terrible play calls both times.

On the first one, tons of motion just to run straight into the defense that wasn't fooled by anything.

On the second one, why not use your battering ram QB to sneak?

Grotto I hear you and my educated guess is that they believed they saw something that made those the right calls at the moment. I mean Gilbert isn't sitting there saying "What is the worst call I can make here? Hmmm". Correct me if I am wrong but was Gilbert on the field this game? Maybe if he is up above the field he calls timeout with a better view of how the defense lined up? Don't know.

I think Gilbert coaches from the booth but I'm not 100% sure of that.

And the thing that made the first call terrible to me is not the result, it was how slow developing it was.

Yeah, a delayed handoff from shotgun into a stacked box -

I’m shocked that didn’t work.

The defense of Wax on that play is crazy to me. What he didn't make a tackle the rest of the day after the BS roughing call? Of course he did. He needs to push that kid out of bounds. I don't care if he was flagged ten times.

The tackle (Tisdale?) whiffed on his block on the first one. Hope he’s ok btw.

I'm not defending him, I simply suggested that is possibly in his mind. Who knows what the actual reason is...if it's on his mind though and he tipcans the QB out and gets flagged then you bitch about his stupid decision to do it. So...whatever...done is done

The play calling the first quarter was a head scratcher, as soon as we took the reins off of Shrader things happened.

He was on the sideline at the end of the half, but in the booth in the 2nd? No idea why

I'm almost wondering if Dino told him to go up there to get a better look at what the Noles were doing. Not sure why they waited until now to put him in the booth.

Agreed. I have been asking for Dino to be aggressive as was promised. Underdog on the road in a place we've never won is when you take chances. The plays that were called were atrocious.
