Did Marrone’s teams win a lot of games which they trailed at the half? I can think of a few - Mizzou, USF, Northwestern

Dino Babers’s head coaching record when trailing at the half.

Suspecting many of those cannot be blamed by the refs.

This is where I miss what Marrone would do strategically.
Break out the binder?

Those 3 right there were all huge wins especially mizzou and USF. Both on the road and late wins. We were a top 15-20 team by the end of that season

This record doesn't tell the whole story. They DO adjust. Dino's career here has been a constant of falling behind by more than a touchdown early, chasing the game, getting it close in the 2nd half, and then being unable to get over the hump in the end - for whatever reason.

Off the top of my head, this includes NC State 2016, LSU 2017, Miami 2017, FSU 2017, Louisville 2019, FSU 2021.

That’s more research than I did.

Having a record that lopsided tells me he coaches bad teams or don’t expect adjustments in the second half than can turn the tide.

I just can’t believe these conversations keep coming about Marrone.

Sure Marrone did some good things, but he hated the college game and recruiting.

The guy isn’t and should not ever come back here as a HC

McCarthy, LaFluer, both Harbaughs just to name a few of the top of my head
I think your response supports my point.

McCarthty and John Harbaugh won Super Bowls.

They are all very good coaches - as is Marrone.

Yesterday felt like a "we've seen this a million times under Babers" kind of game. Slow start, get something working, but in the end it's not enough.

Is it coaching or is it talent that can't seem to close the gap? I think the answer is yes to both.

I appreciate what Marrone did for SU, but I don't think he's a good coach and the game has changed since he was here.

Idk man. Our OL more than held their own against their DL which was their strength. Our DL did well vs their OL. Our DBs did well. We have talent, we just opened with a poor game plan on O and found our stride three drives too late

Marrone was 38-60 in the NFL.

Dino might not by the guy but I know that Marrone is definitely NOT the guy.

We need to move on from him.
Your record will always be deceiving if you’re alway the guy responsible for reclamation projects.

Clock management at the end of the first half was an epic failure. didn't see an interview as he went to the tunnel. did he ever explain his strategy or lack thereof ?

Not taking a time out at 22 second mark was horrible

I honestly think they weren't expecting to be in that position. That one pass went for more yards than they were anticipating
