I understand that and maybe you juggle it around at the bottom, but the worst 2 teams Detroit and Bryant need to play the top 2 seeds or then just draw teams out of a hat and do that way. If  only 2 teams can take an air-flight then as long as Denver qualifies for the tournament each year they will drain that slot and cause a lot of havoc on the rest of matchups.
I think Syracuse, Notre Dame, Denver, North Carolina are locks for home games. Ohio State, Maryland, Duke are pretty solid for first round home games. That leaves Penn State, Cornell, Albany competing for that 8th seed. I think either Cornell-Albany get that 8 seed and they play each other next week.
Penn State is 195 miles from College Park. I think sending Penn State there to Maryland works. Sending Loyola is 297 miles from Duke there is another matchup. Bethlehem is 450 miles from Columbus and that is certainly drivable for Lehigh to play Ohio State.
 
That leaves Towson, Yale, Syracuse, Notre Dame, Detroit, Bryant, Denver, North Carolina. I think the easiest solutions are having Yale fly out to Denver and use the flight. Sending Detroit to Notre Dame, Bryant to Syracuse, and that leaves Towson-North Carolina. For this to work I would "make" Notre Dame the 2 seed if the committee believes North Carolina is the 2 seed and just give them the 3 seed.
