And still very attainable. Get win versus UNC and look for a couple more. We were a 2 point favorite to Pitt on the road and lost. It happens, it’s not some type of horrendous loss, played poorly. All that said, we beat an FSU team that was pretty bad and people got out of whack with how improved we may be. I get it but there’s still a lot of work to be done. We are 4-2 and still have a good season that can be had very easily.

Onto UNC, still think we get 6-8 wins. I do agree with many, need to try and figure out how to stop the run better, that was crazy. Personally, I think we can win the 3 at home pretty easily.

I don't see SU beating NC State but UNC and L'ville at home are the 2 most likely wins the rest of the way. If they lose one of those 2 then getting to 6 wins will be difficult

After today, UNC is not a lock; no one is. They need to go into each game prepared to play.

We need 2 of UNC, WF, and Ville. I don't see us beating NCST, ND or BC after today. They all have very solid rushing attacks.

We are 3-4 plays away from being 6-0 and now we have 3 auto losses on the remaining schedule? LOL.

There are no gimmies left on the schedule. It reminds me of the year after we beat West Virginia that we only needed one more win to be bowl eligible and it never happened. With each loss the pressure builds. NC already beat Pitt and NC has several suspended players coming back.

This is a game we should have won. We were supposed to be the far better team just comparing stats. By all measures, Pitt should have had trouble just keeping it close.

These are the winnable games we lose. Like WF last year, a smaller extent FSU (last year), the Shafer team. If we can't win more of the games we're supposed to win we will always struggle to be better than a 4 - 6 win team. There is no measure that said this should have been close just b/c Pitt was playing at home. Not like Pitt has some magical home field advantage.

Pretty bad FSU is 3-2 and leading at Miami in the 4th. The same Clemson team we controlled for the entire game curbstomped Wake at Wake 56-3.

This was a horrible loss.
Actually it was Clemson 63 Wake 3 and FSU lost by only 1 to Miami 28-27

I agree with 6-8 wins. I wasn’t sold on this team being 9-3 or 10-2 after September’s start. Winning any game in the ACC is hard, especially on the road. I’ll go with UNC and Ville being wins to get us bowling. I think we pick up with another on the road somewhere and it’s 7-5 and the Music City-Pinstripe-Military-Independence Bowl. Our next game is a must. Getting to six by the end of Louisville game is critical since I don’t feel great about the two games to end the year.

A 4 game win streak coming out of the bye week would need nice. 8-2 heading into the showdown against a hopefully undefeated ND team.

Nah we should be 6-0 yes we have blown it in these close games but we were in them.

A real fan can't rule out us regrouping and running the table. There is no game you dont expect us to win as a fan.

Yeah it sucks we expected to win todays game and got a sht sandwich.

Run the damn table. We need NCST to jump up the rankings for when we smoke them in the dome.

Wanting us to win and expecting us to win are two different things. Knowing what we know now about our front seven’s ability to stop the run, I just don’t see any way we beat NCSU, ND, or BC (unless Dillon is out). All of those teams run the ball really well. They are bad matchups for us, and that was true even before yesterday.

We can beat UNC, Louisville, and Wake. Win at least two of those, and get to a bowl. I keep telling myself I’d have been happy with that at the start of the season, I should be happy with it now.

^^^^This and a few others in this thread and other threads(greedy). It certainly is understandable why people are feeling the way they are but not many teams go from 4 wins to 10 wins in a season. To be honest that is just not even reasonable. Before the season started most on this board projected 5-7 wins. Some thought 8. We all knew we had all new linebackers this season and we all knew that our line was thin and we had young dbacks. Then FSU happened and boom it turned into 9-10 win season and now we are not landing there. People just need to remember preseason. I get it, we all wished it could be the proverbial turn year with 9-10 wins...it’s not and that is ok if we can sneak in a couple more and go bowling. Remember this also...I genuinely believe the coaches are in a learning stage as well. It’s not like this staff was previously coaching P5 teams to 10 win bowl seasons. There are things hopefully they are learning as well and hopefully will apply next time around in games like this and Clemson. If we fast forward to year end and we are playing in a bowl, I would count that progress from the prior two years and be happy hoping next year we are better.

This team is not good enough to overcome its mistakes. 3 key plays in the Clemson game and 3-4 yesterday. The bad snap after the fumble recovery in the 4th was devastating. Ward's D is built on the premise that your O will score 50+ so you can give up 30-40 to the other team. Our O is not scoring those kinds of points so it's not working. Part of that is definitely play calling. If we want to go bowling HCDB better change some things up fast.
