It's Oregon versus Ohio State.  Put it on the board!  It's real.  The selection committee hit a home.  In it's first at bat some will say the committee swung and missed once or twice, but I think the committee fouled off a few difficult pitches before driving the ball out of the park. The shifting college football tectonic plates always become apparent eventually.   Next season the SEC may end up being the best conference, but they will have to earn it.  The gap in speed and quickness is closing fast and may be closed already.   I think we are seeing the P5 system slowly level the playing field somewhat across the 5 conferences.  The ACC performed well.   I think the Big 12 will improve.   The Pac12 in my opinion is as good or better than the SEC this season and perhaps last season too.  The B1G continues to adapt, and yesterday Michigan State, Wisconsin, Ohio State, and even Minny showed that they no longer lack in speed and quickness.  Michigan and Penn State are coming.
 
Yesterday was a great day of college football.  Having meaningful games on New Year's day is exactly as it should be.  Being able to watch the two best coaches in college football have their teams compete for a meaningful game is even better.
