I'm not suggesting that Long is Marvin Graves.  Time will tell whether he ever gets to start, or whether he's been recruited over by the Dungeys / Culpeppers of the world.  But this is a kid who should have been redshirted to improve both his physique [which by all accounts he has this past off-season, for the record] and his command of the offense.  Instead, he got thrown to the wolves and won a game.
 
My opinion only, but Long's story is far from being written.  Wouldn't be remotely surprised to see him start next year if he can improve his arm strength a bit.  Also wouldn't be surprised to see Culpepper come in and challenge to be a four year starter, or for Dungey to emerge as Hunt's successor.  But those writing off a kid with Long's work ethic and selling short his physical capabilites are acting in haste.  Again, my opinion only.
