Depends on if the scholar-athlete award is for a cumulative GPA, or simply for a semester. I know my school's conference does it's academic awards solely on the semester of competition, so you could have a 2.5 GPA overall but a 3.3+ GPA in the semester and you'll still get the award. Could be something like that with these examples.
