Anybody else have the same bittersweet thoughts I did watching the games yesterday?

11 upsets of ranked teams.

11 stormings of the field, (or at least when it was a home game).

11 post game interviews with tearful coaches talking about how hard his kids worked and how great the fans are.

It sure looked fun. :)

And we are where we are. :(

I was thinking to my self yesterday, will we ever be in games like this again and for the first time in my life I'm not sure that we will.

Things can change quickly.

It's great to see upsets. Starting to think that the powerhouses will always be powerhouses. On any given Saturday .

Your right they can but it's been 15 years of horrible to mediocre football. At some point perception is reality.

I could not agree more. The Shafer era is starting to feel a lot like GRob's. I have only left 1 game early in the past 24 years but I am not sure if I will be able to watch FSU put up 50+ points on us Saturday. At least the homecoming BBQ on the quad and donor tailgate will be fun!!!

Is the donor tailgate a regular thing or special this week? Just curious what events they do have for donors because that's a good idea that shouldn't be too hard to pull together.

this is the second game in a row i've switched channels 4th qtr. i'm frankly not enjoying this season at all.

How many big games have duke, northwestern, wake forest, Virginia, Boston college, Pitt, been in over the past few years, that is about what the expectation should be. Unless Syracuse makes huge changes the chance of us ever being really good again are pretty much slim to none, we may get top 25 or be what duke is right now but that is the ceiling in the current landscape. Just my opinion and again I like Shafer and don't him replaced unless the university is willing to open up the check book and really invest in the program.

I didn't switch channels but I started doing other things and only half paying attention to the game. That's really unusual for me when the Orange is on.

FWIW, the Mississippi programs have sucked for a lot longer than that

They have it every year on the homecoming weekend. I believe it's for Orange Club and Benefactor/Pathfinder donors to the university.
