We are 1-2 all time against Dayton;
First meeting was in the 75-76 season, Roy Danforth's last and Syracuse starting 5 of Williams, Kindel, Sease, Shackleford and Byrnes went up against Johnny Davis and Jim Paxson jr and won at Manley 84-76. Byrnes tallest starter at 6-7 (more like 6-5 and a half) was known as Roy's Runts II.

Two years later in the 77-78 season at Dayton, the Louie and Bouie show couldn't overcome Dayton's quickness and Jim Paxson's career night, losing 76-67.

We all know about 2 years ago 55-53 loss ouch.

After three games only 1 point separates; Dayton 205 Syracuse 204.

Time to pull ahead! GO ORANGE!

P.S. Dayton was a big deal in those days. They were in the thick of things during the 50s and 60s winning the NIT twice when they weren't in the NCAA's. Don May, Hank Finkel, Bucky Buchorn Jon Paxson Sr Roger Brown Don Smith....Lost to UCLA 1967 championship game.
