I spent the night flying from Rochester to Miami and had a stop in Atlanta. When we were at our gate in ATL about to board, up walks two larger guys, with one decked from
head to toe (and both bags) with Alabama football gear. After surfing the Alabama online roster I finally determined that the more
conservatively dressed guy was Amari Cooper. I then progressed to whisper to my parents that we were sharing a flight with Heisman finalist.

Anyways, we land in Miami around 1am and Amari shows up at baggage claim with us. Five minutes later he's surrounded by 5-6 guys with backpacks full of footballs, mini helmets and posters for Amari to sign.

You could tell that the poor kid just wanted to get his bags and go home, but he stood there with a blank face and signed until the alarm went off and the conveyor started moving.

Pretty crazy how those memorabilia guys knew when he would be flying in. But I guess that's what happens when you're a high profile player.

Alabama pays him good money to sign that merchandise. He better like it.

It's his signature and I think he should be able to get whatever the market will bear. Put it into a trust until after he graduates if it makes everyone feel better but it is his property.

I really like this idea ... this is how it should be ... allow the athlete to start a trust that he can access post either graduation or selection as a Junior into the NFL draft. It would give a lot of kids the incentive to graduate and I think those should be the two prerequisites.
