Next year's team has potential to be a great team but with all the noise about recruiting and Chris I am starting to get nervous. I wish things would settle down and we knew what was happening, the anticipation is driving me bonkers...

We need Chris to come back, hopefully common sense will prevail.

We all know how this plays out.

Chris goes pro.

Sam Dekker comes back.

It seems like we always get the tough breaks, where as some schools always have kids come back who could go high. I don't think it's anything in particular just circumstances I suppose.

It's more than circumstances. We recruit long athletic kids who translate well to the NBA. If 6'0 pg or 6'5 pf at random school start killing it, they're coming back because they don't have the size for the next level. Our pg is 6'3, our pf is 6'9 so when they blow up, they're NBA body ready.

It's the type of player we recruit, for the most part.

Yeah, Chris may be long BUT he hasn't blown up per say? He was good for a freshman but he tore his ACL and he obviously has a lot of strength to gain. I understand that he has length and talent but what has he really shown? So I agree our players are usually more apt to leave when they blow up, but Chris barely got off the ground here.

I really think next year is our year if everything goes as planned meaning we land bryant and keep CM. If Battle comes in we would definitely have a great team the year after as well if our class coming in is as good as advertised. Lydon and Howard are the question marks in my opinion. Time will tell.

We recruit long athletic kids who translate well to the draft, not necessarily to the NBA. Go to Syracuse and leave early, or risk not getting drafted.

Has anyone really taken the time to look at how many kids help vs. hurt their draft position by returning to school? I know it's hard to really know because so many guys draft expectations are inflated vs. their reality.

How many 4 year players have been selected in the 1st round recently? We haven't had anyone since Warrick in 2005. Is that because guys don't stay, or do guys not stay because the NBA devalues them the more they see them play?

I can't see any team taking Chris in the 1 st round. Probably 2nd round as a flyer pick. He won't even be able to work out with teams before the draft. But 80% of the guys the NBA drafts these days are no where near ready to contribute and wash out in a year or 2 so who knows.

The only guy I can say that really improved his stock by staying a fourth year is James Southerland. He wasn't even drafted and had a cup of coffee in the NBA. Fair could have possibly been a second round pick after his 3rd year, but maybe not, either way he wasn't drafted after his 4th year. I can't fault any of these guys for leaving early, it would have been nice to see Grant get drafted in the first and Ennis to develop his game more but to be quite honest, I don't think Ennis gets drafted any higher than he did no matter how long he stayed. Grant, who knows, but even then he was going into his Jr. year, he has even somewhat a down year or gets injured, he probably never gets drafted.

It's extremely easy to say it's a mistake to leave early from school but in all reality I think it's the complete opposite and you have to go the second you have a chance to get drafted.

CJ and Warrick were the only ones, everyone else has left.

brandon triche, andy rautins, and AO just to name a few more than "CJ and Warrick were the only ones...

Seeing the jump Grant made this year, he would have been a lottery pick this year but then again, he had NBA training not college training so who knows if he would've been remotely this good as a junior.
