A-Rod In Big Trouble For Doping

So he's been taking performance deteriorating drugs the last few years? Genius.

The Skanks can only be thinking one thing:

"THIS is how we get under the luxury tax!"

B E A UTIFUL!!!

Wonder if the Yanks try to cancel his contract??
Expect the Union to weigh in. It will probably take about 6 or 7 years to work through the courts, at which point the Yankees will be out from under it anyway.

Wonder if he plays again for the Yanks? Maybe this is what Cashman was alluding to last week when asked if it was possible that ARod would be out for the season and said yes?

There may be a clause in his contract which would get the Yanks off the hook if he violates team and/or baseball policy, especially as it pertains to PED's, I dunno.

Yeah, but I'd imagine with no failed drug test, that would be a tough clause to enforce, and I'm guessing no agent (especially not Scott Boras) would agree to add a clause such as that for such a high profile athlete.

You bet they will. They tried like hell to void Giambi's contract. I think they learned from that and made provisions in this deal to void it if PED use is proven.

Well, first the documentation has to be verified, it's still America where everyone gets their day in court. If they can be, the courts will not honor a contract that breaks the law (think: loan sharking, gambling debts, etc), and will leave the "parties as they stand." Where this goes beyond that, I'm not sure. If you break the law during the performance of your job (say, you're drunk while operating a company vehicle; or commit a robbery while on company time), it's grounds for immediate dismissal, if the employer chooses to terminate that contract. Taking PED's or steroids, as I understand it, is not illegal - body builders, pro wrestlers - as much as it's against the rules of MLB. That's where the test of the courts will finally come - just IMHO.

Hope they find a way to void his contract that clearly was one of biggest mistakes in the history of sports.
