While watching Ohio State/Indiana, I've been trying to decide who Aaron Craft reminds me of. My initial thought was Bobby Hurley because my brain fell victim to the lazy white guy to white guy analogy. But I think Mateen Cleaves is a more apt comparison. Each around 6'2" 200 lbs, always in control, few mistakes, fantastic distributor, strong defender, scrapy offensively and an average outside shooter.

I hated that fuc ker. I hope he burns in hell. Him...mo Pete and the entire state of Michigan for having to play them 2 minutes from their campus.

East Lansing is 80 miles from Auburn Hills. I suppose you could do it in 2 minutes, if you were traveling by -16. ;)

Still cringe when I think of that game... 12 point halftime lead, 14 point second half lead... Which melted away in what seemed like 30 seconds.

Reminds me...our biggest tournament disasters happen every five years...2010/2005/2000/1995. And just one year off with 1991. Think about it.

Bodes well for us this year!

The disaster in 2000 was losing to that miserably mediocre Georgetown team in the BET qtrs which is why we got stuck playing the best team in the country in the Sweet 16. The Big East was weak that year, if we just took care of business at the Garden we would have been a 2 seed or maybe a 1.

At the very least we aren't in their region...such a weak ass field that year.

We have never lost to G-town.
The clock just ran out before we outscored them.
I LOOOOOAAAAATHE them.

True but the Palace holds a lot more people than the Breslin Center. The four schools got something like 250 tickets each, which meant that all of the rest were MSU fans...i.e. more MSU fans than would have fit in the Breslin Center. I was at that game and the 2003 game with Melo at MSU. The Palace was exponentially louder in favor of MSU.

Has Craft gotten arrested as much as Cleaves did?

I ran into him at Carousel Mall during one of his visits actually.
It is so funny you post that. I remember following his recruitment closely. I believe our point guard position that year was between him, Jason hart and kittles. I distinctly remember thinking cleaves would not choose us because only quote in the paper from him after his visit was "my mom really loved the mall". Maybe it was something you said to him :)

Horrible break for Huggins - that was his best shot at a title. Kenyon Martin broke his leg in the opening round of the CUSA tourney.

I remember when i was a resident at cleveland clinic and he was traded to the cavs...had a ton of xrays for his physical...had feet and ankles of an old man in his mid 20's.

Are you possibly thinking of someone else besides Kittles? Because he graduated the year before Hart and Cleaves arrived.

i don't really remember kittles being in the mix. i do remember super suckhole stephon marbury telling anybody who'd listen "i'm going to SU" only to leave us scrambling to find plan B after douchebury signed with cremins. but JB did tell me on his show one night we were very close to landing mateen. and maybe there was a football issue as well?

Depends when you want to call the Navy game. 85 or 86? Close enough.

I thought it was a guy by the name of, no joke, Johnny Carson.
