i would make the argument that buddy is very close to earning one of the final two spots.

in conference play, looking at offensive rating. kenpom has a category that includes players who have played at least 40% of available minutes and have been used in at least of 20% of possessions. buddy is very close to both cut off marks and, with increasing play, could just nose over the lines the next 5 games. he's at 38.5% of minutes and 19.4% usage. if he was over the line now, his o-rating of 122.7 is fifth in the conference. for all players, regardless of usage rate, he is 7th.
similarly, for 3 pt shooting, there is a 40% minutes requirement. if he was at 40%, his conference 3 pt pct of .439 would be 6th.

For a kid who many people on this board were saying was undeserving of a scholarship and wasn't a Division 1 player, that's a pretty good freshman year.
