As the other posters have noted the conference contract is largely (over 90%) for football and Mbasketball.  The overall contract does pay for the broadcast rights to the Olympic sports (part of the notorious Third Tier Rights).  ND's share is pro-rated to subtract out the football portion of the yearly payout (and I also think they don't get to vote on most football matters decided by the membership).  The number and selection of non-revenue sports are always at the schools' choice.  There is a minimum number required by the Conference (separate numbers for women and men), and there is a "fine" to pay if you don't have a team in a conference sport.  SU will pay one for baseball.  Ga Tech pays two for no soccer teams.  And who can forget that Title IX also factors into the picture because you need to balance the 85-scholarship gorilla that is football with women's teams, especially since everyone except Ga Tech has a female majority on campus.
