ACC: Favorites to succeed Coach K at Duke

"]Most of K's assistants have struggled as head coaches"

Apparently it's not as easy as it looks.

Virtually all first time coaches have struggled. Just a matter of degree.

The one name not mentioned is Mike Brey...although that's unlikely given where he is now.

The only thing we can be sure of is that it won't be Quin Snyder.
The only college job for which he might qualify is SUNY Binghamton.

I'm betting on Brad Stevens or Amaker . I'm hoping that we don't have to answer the question in the near future.

One could only hope that Mike Brey is the guy.

Believe it or not but Snyder is being seriously considered for NBA head coaching openings.

I'm betting it won't be Stevens or whoever the hot name is when K decides to leave. He has too big of an ego to let Duke hire a replacement that has no ties to him AND might do as well or better than him.

It'll be a handpicked alum IMO. That way if the replacement does well, K still gets credit for developing him as a coach.

I don't think K is the devil himself like many Carolina and other long-time ACC fans do, but he does somehow manage to make things that aren't about him, about him. The replacement search will be no different.

I know three of those guys fairly well. If I had to bet (especially with those odds), I would pick Chris Collins as the likeliest successor

jb! they r sick of man; need a change. one old fossil replaces another
