1) N. Carolina - its all good, except when they made frosh read the Koran. Will be fun.
2) Puke - its no-good. I don't mind flopping, Coach K. or white players. What I don't like is political correctness. All schools are infected but Puke is the Typhoid Mary of academia.
3) Has Beens - Ga Tech, Maryland and Wake, and they ain't coming back. Nice schools but they have no recruiting turf.
4) Never Will Be's - most all the rest.
Clemson - don't even know where they are and neither does anyone else, but do know that they will beat our ass in football and they have pretty co-eds that we will never get.
North Carolina State - good school if you are interested in fabric science, NIT State.
Boston College - their reason for being is to hate on UCon.
Miami - Shahala was Maxwell 72. I was 73. She was teachers pet, but life has exposed her. If you are under 30 and are not a lib you have no heart. If you are over 30 and not a conservative you have no head.
Virginia - Jefferson is overrated. Washington and Madison are underrated. Virginia has the facilities but their players are not rated very high.
Virginia Tech. - Stick to football, its less cerebral.
5) Florida State - Billy Donovan will be heard from again. Ohio State except that it has good weather and bad academics.

...don't know how to respond to this...except perhaps...Really??????????

well, its pretty close to being spot on. Most of the ACC isnt doing that well. lots of potential, but sucks presently.

Florida State-Billy Donovan? A perfect ending to a head scratching post.

Agree with the general premise that the ACC is two great hoops programs and a bunch of shitty ones. I'm sure the Wakes, GTechs and Marylands wil have some up periods, and the others wil have their occasional years of being a tournament team. The Billy Donovan comment makes me wonder if the OP has any idea what he's talking about at all and when combined with the other ramblings, makes me feel dirty for having read it to begin with.

I apologize re the Fl St comment. If only Fl state were Fl we would have more competition. My main point is that beyond the top 2, there are only 3 teams that have been good from time to time: Wake, Maryland and Ga Tech, but all 3 have major problems such that I do not expect consistency, like we get from Nova, etc. Wake does not ever go deep enough in terms of recruiting. They get the occasional star suince they are a good fit for those wanting a smaller school within a big time conf, but it takes 7 or 8 players to be a serious contender and that will never be Wake. With the return of the Johnies, Ga Tech no longer has NYC as its turf. Their glory years are behind them. Maryland should control the Baltimore hot bed, but it doesn't. With a new coach they might even slip another notch in local recruiting. Don't get me wrong, I prefer the ACC over alternatives but it is a step down in terms of basketball competition. Sans humor, that is my point.
