That's what people said about Oregon vs the B1G ten plodders. And the defense seems to hold more than teams that are ready for it in the Pac12.

I think it has less to do with pace and more to do with good offense vs average defenses. Bad teams with pace vs good defenses just lose quicker.

pace is one of the only things you can control in football. if you want to go fast, go fast.

and oregon isn't playing rutgers in january, lets not pretend like those games are representative of what oregon would do to the whole big 10

Exactly. Fast or slow Oregon destroys Rutgers. But when Oregon faces an elite defense, they look mortal. That's why they lost last year.

Pace is just another tool in the toolbox. With good/bad trade offs. Trust me I know - I'm an Eagles fan.

Ohio State beats everyone but you chalk up Oregon's loss to their pace. do you chalk up Wisconsin's 59 point loss to their slow pace?

Ohio State did lose. To a slow ACC team.

Idtamend that to when the Ducks face an elite defense that has time to prepare for them, they look mortal.

it's amazing how high a standard Oregon is held to simply because they do things differently

because so many programs are winning national championships

It's a high standard because of the numbers they've put up on offense. Same with Baylor. You start leading the country in offense every year, yeah - championships come next, no?

Depends on expectations. For Alabama - yeah - I'd bet their fans and coaches and players think it was a failure.

That's how this stuff works.
