Only three ACC league games remain after North Carolina (at Virginia) and Notre Dame (at Duke) earned road victories this weekend.
Those games also considerably simplified the remaining conference tournament scenarios.
North Carolina, Notre Dame and Syracuse are all assured top-three seeds for the April 24-26 event at PPL Park in Chester, Pa., while next Sunday's Virginia-Duke game will function as a play-in game. The Virginia-Duke loser will finish last and earn a date with Penn on April 25.
Both North Carolina and Notre Dame remain without a conference loss and have the inside track to the No. 1 seed. But it is still possible for Syracuse to earn the top seed if it beats North Carolina, the Tar Heels upend Notre Dame and the Orange has the fewest goals allowed in the three teams' games against each other.
The Orange is assured the No. 3 seed if it loses Saturday at North Carolina. If that happens, Syracuse's semifinal would be against the loser of the April 18 game between North Carolina and Notre Dame.
