Laff! Well, David Hale would argue that Pitt is way too low here, too. He had Pitt finishing 2nd. So if they are 8th, we might as well be 14th.

Usually these preseason rankings are solely based on last season's performance.

On one hand, seems like a whole bunch of southern bias. On the other hand, the Cuse schedule is brutal and we may very well finish at the bottom. Let's play and see where we are

Can't wait until the second-to-last-place team goes in and beats Clemson

I mean...we really didn’t lose that much from last year. Why do they think we’ll be so much worse?

-Average recruiting class
-New offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator
-Didn't lose a lot of players but did lose a few NFL guys
-Unproven depth
-Tough conference schedule
-Media in general not being highly knowledgable about each team

I am higher on the team than general perception but I think it's easy to see why the media doesn't view us highly

Did Andre Smzyt opt out?
Our kicker won the Lou Groza 2 years ago.
He didn’t even get picked as the preseason first team K.

Andre Cisco should be the S as well.

To be fair, we were 2-6 in conference last year. Tied for 2nd to last in entire ACC. It's not so much "worse" as it is that's who we have proven to be in 5 of the 7 seasons we've been in the ACC.

Whether that's fair this season or not remains to be seen. But, it's not unreasonable, IMO, that we are being picked this low going into the season.

Our road schedule resembles Napoleon Bonaparte’s retreat to the Berezina River across the frozen wastelands of Russia.

I’m fiercely bitter with this
Buckle up...we can handle this:)

If I have to rewatch a lovable Syracuse team, like 2017, miss a bowl game due to a BRUTAL road schedule idk what I’ll do

I think it resembles the Confederate defensive position at Cold Harbor.

No/limited fans. The road slate will be a great challenge, but if there is ever a year to surprise, this is it.

BTW, UNC/2020 is right where Syracuse/2019 was. Perhaps overlooking us, as we (foolishly) underestimated Maryland. I only wish the Tar Heels had a big opponent for the following week (we had Clemson, they have UNC-Charlotte).

We play 6 of the bottom 7 teams in the league. Virginia is the only team of the bottom eight that we don‘t play. Obviously, SU is also part of the group.

How do we have a First Team All-American safety, yet he can't get on the All-Conference Team? Boggles my mind.
Because the AP just see the INT numbers while ACC voters actually see Cisco on film

Anyone else think unc is a bit overrated? I like their QB. Not sure they should be ranked.
