The NY venues didn't seem interested in being part of a rotation. The acc didn't seem interested in committing to a NY (or maybe any single) venue full time. Until the latter changes, at a minimum don't expect msg to be in the conversation any time soon.
Didn't MSG just sign a new long-term deal with the Big East? That would have to be voided first, no? Anyone know what conditions it would take to void that contract?
There HAS to be a breaking point for the contract. Maybe the BE can still manage a UConn vs GTown final which doesn't sound too bad on its own. But the rest of the tourny selling SMU vs Tulane, Seton Hall vs Central Florida, and Houston vs East Carolina can't sound good THere has to be an out clause somewhere.Didn't MSG just sign a new long-term deal with the Big East? Mayhaps. That or the league realizes it's more profitable to play in the #1 market in the country vs playing in bumble, Dixie. They'll change their mind when they see a BE Final of UConn vs UCF in front of 5300 people.

Only if ND goes in fullMaybe Indianapolis needs to be part of the rotation now.
Oh man. Can you imagine the Garden on a wednesday afternoon when Tulane and SMU meet?
Ghost town.
You could end up having a team playing in Tampa on Monday, flying to Milwaukee for a game on Tuesday, then off to New York for 3 games in 3 days Thursday-Saturday. It would be epic if anyone could pull it off.
Would never allow this to happen. More likely to have 5, 6, 7 and 8th seeded teams host everybody in their bracket. For example 16 vs 9 at 8th court then winner play 8 the following night. (if I have the bracket right)they will keep the bye/double bye format, play the first two rounds at home school arenas, and only bring the final 8 to the Garden.
Bottom 8 play off on Monday noon tip off, the winners travel to the 5-8 seeds for a Tuesday evening game, the winners converge with the top 4 seeds to play Thursday through Saturday at the garden.

With Tulane, UCF, and SMU now in maybe Seton Hall wont be out early lol. The BET can PRAY for St Johns, Seton Hall, UConn, Temple, and Nova to make runs every year or they're screwed. The ACC doesn't want an annual commitment to MSG. The NC schools will never allow that. MSG is not interested in being part of a rotation and getting the tourney every 2nd or 3rd year. So MSG isn't happening. The Big East is fortunate the ACC didn't take UConn. UConn and St. John's are the only two area draws left in the conference who will sell any tickets to the BET. Seton Hall is always out in the first game. If the ACC had taken UConn the BET wouldn't draw flies. Maybe some people from Philly will drive up to see Temple vs. Nova but MSG will be empty for games like UCF-SMU.
