Here is the funny stuff, especially when you think of all the whiney FSU people. When the ACC swooped into Tallahassee and signed up FSU, which was right after the SEC had told FSU its 12th slot was FSU's for the taking, the ACC case was 3 part: 1) that in the ACC, FSU football would be king for a while and that that would lead to FSU finally winning a National Championship, 2) that ACC ,membership would raise the level of the entire FSU athletics department so that it would be nationally competitive in many sports beyond football and baseball, and 3) that ACC membership would mean that FSU's academic reputation would grow steadily until such time as the school would be able to get an AAU invite.

Obviously the first two have come true, and sodas the 3rd. FSU clearly was very close this past time to getting the AAU invite. That would not be the case if FSU had joined the SEC.
