At this point it looks like we will have a P4 and G5, so only 9 conferences. The playoff is staying at Top 6 conference champs. Why not go all in with everyone conference champs, while also adding more at larges? We can have the below:

Top 3 conference champs make the Quarterfinals
Next 3 conference champs and Top 3 at larges make the 2nd round
Last 3 conference champs and next 5 at larges play in the 1st round
