But as a newly minted 50 year old, I am no longer in the demographic advertisers and networks care about and generally will only watch or at least make an effort to watch games in which one of my alma maters in playing.

Despite this. I did end up watching most of the Alabama-Georgia game on Saturday.  Not because I wanted to, but because my 18-year old nephew, who is a freshman at Wisconsin, wanted to watch it.  We can all complain all we want about the destruction of college football, but if the younger generation does not care and still watches, it will not matter.
