Sure looks like Joe is gonna have a lot of shots with that roster that is coming back. I can see why Clemson was the choice- makes perfect sense.

Seeing Elijah Gertrude and some others named in that article got me thinking about all the 2023 recruiting misses, and it turns out we were lucky to miss on most of those guys. For example, we held off Reid Ducharme and then were upset we didn't get him -- but instead we got Sophomores Starling, Westry and double redshirt Cuffe. And we're full on scholarships so any other recruits would have meant we couldn't get one of our transfers. A few guys were elite who would have been nice. JP Estrella is still probably the one who got away -- he could have really helped this team (and if things don't go well at Tenn this would be a prime landing spot for the following year).

Nice post. One correction, though.

Westry is a redshirt freshman this year... He got a medical redshirt because of his knee injury last year.

I agree about being lucky regarding the misses in recruiting. Believe that it is a long shot to get z Estrella through the portal even if he is unhappy. I am aware of at least 4 high school recruits that Syracuse is strongly pursuing (Bethea, Lewis, Ngonba, Distant-Dunkley, etc) as well as already have commitments with (Moore, Freeman).

If Syracuse brings in 4 new players for 2024-2025, then there will be the same number of players leaving the current roster. There is a lot of guess work which of those players will be candidates to leave. Just hope that the current team has such a great career enhancing year that make it easy for those leaving to have good opportunities.
