ACC to 16 with this Gambit

okay, Notre Dame is team every conference wants. The best fit for a variety of reasons is the ACC...but the ACC will not take Notre Dame without football. So here is how it is done so revenue sharing isnt the primary stumbling block.

1. Notre Dame keeps its NBC contract money until contract is up
2. During 1 above, ACC shares no football money with Notre Dame
3. Notre Dame must get to BCS bowl without ACC giving up a team opportunity
4. Notre Dame must join the ACC -all sports--within 1 year of present contract ending with NBC and/or pay the exit fee of $20,000,000 without recourse
5. Notre Dame and ACC will choose 16 th team together...being that Notre Dame is good in football and basketball, the 16th team will be the most logical from an academic and geographic perspective

Give Notre Dame one year to accept this offer...if not; determine if going to 16 is best for the ACC and go get two other teams...and forget about ND.

Probably would not even be enough for ND to come aboard. While money is the driving factor for 99% of all of this conference expansion ND is in that other 1%. What ND would make off the TV/Conference money is nothing compared to the amount they would lose in Donations and Endowments from their boosters if they joined a conference. This independence is what they identify with and what they will fight tooth and nail to maintain until there is no other option. IMHO I do not see ND joining a conference as a full member ever. They will adapt and shape the landscape in every way possible to make this a reality.
