The other model is to get the ACC on the cable networks.  I have DirecTV, which means I pay for the BTN all year whether I watch it or not.  I would expect the carriage fees for 12 months on all televisions would be higher than a seven month subscription base of only ACC school fans.

The other issue is recruiting.  Having all of the games on a traditional outlet like cable or satellite will be bigger draw than explaining to a recruit's parents that they will need to have an internet television or other equipment to watch little Johnny play football/basketball.  God forbid Johnny grew up in a rural area or a poor urban area that location or cost makes it difficult to get a high speed internet connection.
