Tore mine (it too just popped) playing platform tennis a good many years ago. Surgery to repair, then 8 weeks in a cast then boot and a sneak with built up heel. Can't recall the rehab time but as I remember it wasn't that long or hard. At that time there was a Brit medical theory to do nothing, but rehab, although the risk was possibly ending up with a bit of a floppy foot. I have a feeling treatment and healing might be a bit faster these days and Hunt could return in time for a bowl. If so, think that could be a rallying cry for the team. Get to a bowl for T.

I've seen 2 guys in the last 4 years that have torn their Achilles while playing pick-up bball. They both took about 5-6 months to get back to full speed. The one guy was a former D1 player at South Carolina. He said it was the hardest thing he had to deal with.

sounds like a pop then a lot of pain. foot becomes more or less useless.

I've torn both of mine...not fun. My first happened in 2002 playing hoops. Loud sound. Sounded like a paddle hitting a strip of rubber. Second one in 2012. Also also playing hoops. Felt like someone threw a barbell at my foot.

No more hoops for me.
