Add fuel to the fire

I was concerned about them but it seems like they are taking the zone too lightly from what I've heard them say. And during practice they were using their smallest walk ons to simulate the zone. Big mistake lol.

"BYU tried it," Perkins said. "Portland tried it. Utah tried it. And it wasn't successful. So we'll see how Syracuse does it. Like I said, man, we're not a team that you can zone. … It's just another defense, another scheme."

Only Portland I know is the Trail Blazers. There's a Portland college team? Wait, Portland, Oregon or Portland, Maine? I'm so lost. They must have a hell of a zone though.

HA. "Freshman guard makes light of Syracuse zone" is a headline right up there with "Man lands on moon." Lol

The other comical thing is that their coach, in his press conference today, said that they had faced almost no zone at all this year. Sort of strange that his players think they've been playing against tons of zone?

In his PC he said they've played less than 30 possesions this year against zone -- so that player must have meant "Portland used it for 4 plays against us and we scored twice...you can't zone us"

Also, in the players presser McClellan said "we're going to see the zone for 40 minutes unless we can execute well" -- HA he thinks we'd go M2M

The reality is they haven't seen a zone like this. But at the same time we probably haven't seen an inside/outside combo like Sabonis/Wiltjer either. We've seen good bigs like Gill, Brice Johnson, Tyler Davis, etc. but Sabonis has an NBA post game already.

How can any of us doubt them, everyone knows Gonzaga's had tremendous success against Syracuse...

Send the ball inside to TR , DC and TL and get two fouls on offense end on Sabonis and this game is over , easy.

To be fair last night I had a dream that we lost to Temple -- I'm not sure why it was Temple but usually if a dream about a loss it happens :( :( :(

that easy huh
This is the least impressive Zags team I have seen . Wilfser (SP.?) shoots a set shot and Sabonis can be put in foul trouble . In addition our team is underrated due to development being slowed during Boehiem's suspension. But now is has all clicked and they are where they would have been month's ago.

I'll bet my house Boeheim isn't talking anything like this. As far as Few's comments about not seeing much zone this year, he's really just saying, "I don't want to talk about it." He's a smart coach and they'll be as ready as they can be. And the two who will cause problems, Wiltjer and Dranginis, haven't been dismissive. They're similar in overall ability to SU, and they've just won two games against roughly the same level as we have. but the big difference is SU's been playing against tougher competition all year. Although they certainly did take Utah to the woodshed. It will be a test, and should be a pretty evenly contested game. SU's x-factor is Cooney. If he's on, that's a problem for Gonzaga. If he's not, it will be a very close battle.

Ugg. Remember I had that Pitt loss dream, but I think that was more predictive than this Temple version. First off, I had the dream at a time when there were no more known games against Pitt and secondly, in my dream I had Cooney missing two freethrows to lose it, whereas in reality he missed a three. So yeah... Anyway, I'm hoping your Temple version is just a PBR fuelled delirium meaning nothing as opposed to whatever vision quest situation I had going on.
