I can't believe I didn't spot this earlier!

SU (4 seed) against Missouri (1 seed) Sweet Sixteen 1994. Adrian Autry went nuts in the second half and carried SU to force OT after being down double digits. The sequence where he hits a 3, gets a steal and makes a basket from his knees starts at the 1:35:20 mark. I still can't figure out why they didn't count the basket.

scored 30 in the second half. I was a meas that game

LPO a ton of vintage SU games have been posted lately. There's a whole thread on it floating around somewhere.

Good find.

Seemed like a screw-job at the time but he pretty clearly was fouled on the floor.

Wow...take me back...thanks! So much good, great unis, fouls called as they should be and a competitive game in the high 70's...even with the 35 second shot clock. :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the idea is that it should have been an and one right? But AA shot two instead. He went 1-2, we got the rebound and were fouled. Then go 2-2 at the line.

So isn't the outcome the same?

Nobody can figure that out--it was inexplicable.

the foul was before the shot. just because he released it quickly, doesnt make it continuation.

Man... that defense at the end of the game... yikes. Thank God the Mizzou guy didnt take advantage of the 3 on 1 with 10 seconds left as we had 3 defenders up towards midcourt for some reason.

I loved that team, along with the 1995 and 1996 ones. Really gritty, not as talented as prior teams coming off the tourney ban, but always played really hard. If the DC/Seikaly/Sherm/Steven teams played as hard we would have won a title or two! Oh, and if they had hit their free throws of course.

I keep reading this thread title as though Autry got shot.

That was a year we got a benefit of a weak #1 in our bracket. We almost pulled it off.

Although the #2 seed Zona took them out by 20 the next game.
