Again, Happy For Greg Robinson

Is there a reason you need to bring this up again? We get it - you think he's a good guy. He probably is. So what? There's a lot of good guys out there.

Really, I think you just like the attention, positive or negative.

No axe to grind with Greg- or Coach P. What's done is done. No reason to wish them anything but success.
I have no problem with wishing them success. Nowhere in my post does it say I wish Grob ill, does it? The point was, why do we constantly need these posts, knowing the venom and divisiveness it will draw? As I said, as much as I like OPA's posts about the game itself, I think he likes all the positive/negative attention these posts inspire. Waste of bandwidth, IMO.

No venom or divisiveness so far.

I find these posts to be useful - they flush out the bitter vindictive people that hold pointless grudges. Knowing what people have such a severe character flaw reminds me to take that into account when considering their opinions. Besides - there were enough posts taking glee in Michigan's losses when he was the DC there, that posts giving him accolades for success at Texas are well in bounds.

He looks like he lost weight.

Seemed to be a real decent guy, nice to see him do well. Not having the makeup to turn around a ship astray isn't the worst thing in the world.

Talking about how this thread will undoubtedly become divisive and venomous is what is going to make it divisive and venomous.

It's ridiculous to hold anything against P or GRob personally. By all accounts they are both really, really good guys...they just, at the time they were let go, not right for SU football. That's all there is to it. It doesn't make them bad people, it just made them bad coaches at the time.

Sidenote: is GRob's son still working in the Syracuse area? I know he pretty much fell in love with the city and was working on some urban development stuff, if I'm not mistaken.

Interesting to see GRob have a defense to call his own. Co-DC and then HC...then that goofy 3-3-5 at Michigan and now he has the keys to a lot of talent.

Well at least this is more reasonable than giving Coach P a congrats because UCONN beat Fordham.

Good. Do you believe this never happened in the past?

I don't think giving Robinson or even Coach P credit for subsequent accomplishments ever caused it.

What's awesome about threads, is that they have titles. When I see a title that clearly indicates I'm not interested in a thread, I don't click on it. It's a wonderful thing.

bygosh golly dangit .just coach robinson and his whole EFFIN tenure!

Yes and yes.

And good post.

I don't really have the time overly happy or overly angry about him. Life's too short. I do think people should probably blame the guy who hired him though. GRob wasn't trying to sink us. Just one of the masses who wanted to be promoted but didn't work out.

We're back where we were the year before he started so who cares at this point. Hopefully this time we're trending up instead of down.

I would more follow the Texas story than the GRob portion. Should Oklahoma win Bedlam next week at noon (not all that likely but it's always a crazy rivalry) then Texas is playing for the Big 12 title at 3:30. Seems crazy given how they started.

Your diversion is his career.

Yep, true. A career that has allowed him to make millions while spending his life in a vocation he loves. I'm sure he can handle me being pissed that he sucked as the SU head coach.

Rumor is going around. He owns New Jersey, if I remember correctly.
that'd be kind of funny actually
