[QUOTE="SWC75, post: 5251506, member: 289"] I’ll continue to keep track of how teams did against ranked teams. Just something to look at in evaluating teams. The formula is to give teams points based on the ranking of the team they played: 25 points for playing a #1 ranked team, 24 for #2, 23 for #3, down to 1 point for playing #25. (A shortcut: subtract the number of the ranking from 26). Then you add in the net point differential of the game. Example: Navy lost to #13 Notre Dame 3-42. The Middies get 13 points for playing the #13 team but lose 39 for losing to that team 3-42. Net points: -26. Let’s see who had the best result each week and who accumulates the most points over the season. WEEK 13 Ohio State beat #5 Indiana 38-15 = +44 points Notre Dame beat #19 Army 49-14 = +42 Oklahoma beat #7 Alabama 24-3 = +40 Kansas beat #16 Colorado 37-21 = +26 Florida beat #9 Mississippi 24-17 = +24 Minnesota lost to #4 Penn State 25-26 = +21 Arizona State beat #14 Brigham Young 28-23 = +17 Auburn beat #15 Texas A&M 43-41 = +12 Wyoming lost to #12 Boise State 13-17 = +10 Kentucky lost to #3 Texas 14-31 = +6 Indiana lost to #2 Ohio State 15-38 = +1 Utah lost to #22 Iowa State 31-28 = +1 Brigham Young lost to #21 Arizona State 23-28 = 0 Rutgers lost to #25 Illinois 31-38 = -6 San Jose State lost to #24 UNLV 16-27 = -9 Wake Forest lost to #8 U of Miami 14-42 = -10 Virginia lost to #13 Southern Methodist 7-33 = -13 Army lost to #6 Notre Dame 14-49 = -15 MIssissippi State lost to #23 Missouri 20-39 = -16 Massachusetts lost to #10 Georgia 21-59 = -22 The Citadel lost to #17 Clemson 14-51 = -28 Wofford lost to #18 South Carolina 12-56 = -36 Texas-El Paso lost to #11 Tennessee 0-56 = -41 Navy turned the ball over 6 times when they lost to Notre Dame 14-51. Army did so only once and only lost 14-49. Watch out for the Irish in the playoffs. Indiana has gone from not playing any ranked teams to having +1 against ranked teams. U of Miami still has none.
