[QUOTE="SWC75, post: 5206545, member: 289"] I’ll continue to keep track of how teams did against ranked teams. Just something to look at in evaluating teams. The formula is to give teams points based on the ranking of the team they played: 25 points for playing a #1 ranked team, 24 for #2, 23 for #3, down to 1 point for playing #25. (A shortcut: subtract the number of the ranking from 26). Then you add in the net point differential of the game. Example: Navy lost to #13 Notre Dame 3-42. The Middies get 13 points for playing the #13 team but lose 39 for losing to that team 3-42. Net points: -26. Let’s see who had the best result each week and who accumulates the most points over the season. WEEK 8 Georgia beat #1 Texas 30-15 = +40 points Tennessee beat #7 Alabama 24-17 = +26 Illinois beat #24 Michigan 21-7 = +16 Central Florida lost to #9 Iowa State 35-38 = +14 Louisville lost to #6 U of Miami 45-52 = +13 Oklahoma State lost to #13 Brigham Young 35-38 = +10 Alabama lost to #11 Tennessee 17-24 = +8 Texas lost to #5 Georgia 15-30 = +6 Auburn lost to #19 Missouri 17-21 = +3 Mississippi State lost to #14 Texas A&M 24-34 = +2 Virginia lost to #10 Clemson 31-48 = -1 Georgia Tech lost to #12 Notre Dame 13-31 = -4 Arkansas lost to #8 Louisiana State 10-34 = -6 Michigan lost to #22 Illinois 7-21 = -10 Purdue lost to #2 Oregon 0-35 = -11 East Carolina lost to #23 Army 28-45 = -14 West Virginia lost to #17 Kansas State 18-45 = -18 Stanford lost to #21 Southern Methodist 10-40 = -25 Charlotte lost to #25 Navy 17-51 = -33 Nebraska lost to #16 Indiana 7-56 = -39 WEEKLY LEADERS Week 0 Georgia Tech beat #10 Florida State 24-21 = +19 points Week 1 Georgia beat #14 Clemson 34-3 = +43 points Week 2 Tennessee beat #24 North Carolina State 51-10 = +43 points Week 3 Kansas State beat #20 Arizona 31-7 = +30 points Week 4 Brigham Young beat #13 Kansas State 38-9 = +42 points Week 5 Alabama beat #2 Georgia 41-34 = +31 points Week 6 Texas A&M beat #9 Missouri 41-10 = +48 points Week 7 Texas beat #18 Oklahoma 34-3 = +39 points Week 8 Georgia beat #1 Texas 30-15 = +40 points’ TOP 10 PERFORMANCES Week 6 Texas A&M beat #9 Missouri 41-10 = +48 points Week 1 Georgia beat #14 Clemson 34-3 = +43 Week 2 Tennessee beat #24 North Carolina State 51-10 = +43 Week 4 Brigham Young beat #13 Kansas State 38-9 = +42 Week 8 Georgia beat #1 Texas 30-15 = +40 Week 7 Texas beat #18 Oklahoma 34-3 = +39 Week 2 Texas beat #10 Michigan 31-12 = +35 Week 5 Alabama beat #2 Georgia 41-34 = +31 Week 1 Boston College beat #10 Florida State 28-13 = +31 Week 3 Kansas State beat #20 Arizona 31-7 = +30 Week 6 Vanderbilt beat #1 Alabama 40-35 = +30 TOP 25 CUMULATIVE Georgia +98 points Tennessee +90 Texas +80 Kansas State +58 Texas A&M +57 Kentucky +47 Vanderbilt +46 Boston College +45 Southern California +44 Illinois +43 Brigham Young +42 Alabama +39 Notre Dame +34 Minnesota +33 Washington +26 Oregon +25 Northern Illinois +23 Ohio State +22 Arkansas +21 Penn State +21 Southern California +20 California +19 Arizona State +18 Boise State +16 Louisiana State +16 Louisville +16 Mississippi State +16 The worst game: Week 1: Furman lost to #6 Mississippi 0-76 = -56 points Worst Cumulative: Kent State -92 points Syracuse has +10 points.
