[QUOTE="SWC75, post: 4809146, member: 289"] I’ll continue to keep track of how teams did against ranked teams. Just something to look at in evaluating teams. The formula is to give teams points based on the ranking of the team they played: 25 points for playing a #1 ranked team, 24 for #2, 23 for #3, down to 1 point for playing #25. (A shortcut: subtract the number of the ranking from 26). Then you add in the net point differential of the game. Example: Navy lost to #13 Notre Dame 3-42. The Middies get 13 points for playing the #13 team but lose 39 for losing to that team 3-42. Net points: -26. Let’s see who had the best result each week and who accumulates the most points over the season. WEEK 9 Oregon beat #13 Utah 35-6 = +42 Louisville beat #20 Duke 23-0 = +29 Kansas beat #6 Oklahoma 38-33 = +25 Arizona beat #11 Oregon State 27-24 = +18 Georgia Tech beat #17 North Carolina 46-42 = +13 Stanford lost to #5 Washington 33-42 = +12 Wisconsin lost to #2 Ohio State 10-24 = +10 Indiana lost to #10 Penn State 24-33 = +7 Florida lost to #1 Georgia 20-43 = +2 Rice lost to #22 Tulane 28-30 = +2 California lost to #24 Southern California 49-50 = +1 Kentucky lost to #21 Tennessee 27-33 = -1 Old Dominion lost to #25 James Madison 27-30 = -2 Wake Forest lost to #4 Florida State 16-41 = -3 Colorado lost to #23 UCLA 16-28 = -9 Brigham Young lost to #7 Texas 6-35 = -10 Colorado State lost to #19 Air Force 13-30 = -10 Utah lost to #8 Oregon 6-35 = -11 Vanderbilt lost to #12 Mississippi 7-33 = -12 Duke lost to #18 Louisville 0-23 = -15 Pittsburgh lost to #14 Notre Dame 7-58 = -39 There are so many good teams in the dying Pac 12 that they are likely to accumulate a lot of points in this study. By they may also be knocking each other out of playoff contention. WEEKLY LEADERS Week 0 San Jose State lost to #6 Southern California 28-56 = -8 points Week 1 Florida State beat #5 Louisiana State 45-24 = +42 Week 2 Texas beat #3 Alabama 34-24 = +33 Week 3 Florida beat #11 Tennessee 29-16 = +28 Week 4 Oregon beat #19 Colorado 42-6 = +43 Week 5 Oregon State beat #10 Utah 21-7 = +30 Week 6 Georgia beat #20 Kentucky 51-13 = +44 Week 7 Arizona beat #19 Washington State 44-6 = +45 Week 8 Florida State beat #16 Duke 38-20 = +28 Week 9 Oregon beat #13 Utah 35-6 = +42 TOP 10 PERFORMANCES Week 7 Arizona beat #19 Washington State 44-6 = +45 points Week 6 Georgia beat #20 Kentucky 51-13 = +44 Week 7 Notre Dame beat #10 So California 48-20 = +44 Week 4 Oregon beat #19 Colorado 42-6 = +43 Week 1 Florida State beat #5 Louisiana State 45-24 = +42 Week 9 Oregon beat #13 Utah 35-6 = +42 Week 1 Duke beat #9 Clemson 28-7 = +38 Week 2 Texas beat #3 Alabama 34-24 = +33 Week 4 Penn State beat #24 Iowa 31-0 = +33 Week 5 Oregon State beat #10 Utah 21-7 = +30 TOP 25 CUMMULATIVE Oregon +101 points Arizona +90 Florida State +70 Texas +67 Notre Dame +65 Louisville +58 Alabama +53 Oregon State +52 Penn State +48 Ohio State +47 Georgia +44 Mississippi +37 Duke +35 Florida +29 UCLA +28 Oklahoma +27 Arkansas +26 Washington State +25 Kansas +22 U of Miami +22 Boston College +21 Washington +21 Arizona State +20 Missouri +20 Central Florida +18 The worst game: Week 1: Arkansas State lost to #20 Oklahoma 0-73 = -67 Worst Cumulative: Stanford -79 Syracuse is -37.
