Everybody has been comparing Kobe Bryant to Michael Jordan. I decided to do a "net Points" comparison f their career numbers:

Michael (6-6 195) 6 titles
38.3M 37.8p 7.8r 6.6a 2.9s 1.0b 56.1+ 14.4mfg 1.7mft 3.4to 3.3pf 22.8- = 33.3NP 21.7OE 11.6FG 51.0% twos 32.7% threes 83.5% FT

Kobe (6-6 212) 5 titles
36.1M 33.2P 7.0r 6.2a 1.9s 0.6b 48.9+ 14.3mfg 1.6mft 4.0to 3.0pf 23.2- = 25.7NP 17.3OE 8.4FG 47.9% twos 32.9% threes 83.7% FT

Kobe was great but Michael was slightly better - in virtually everything. But almost as good as Michael Jordan is pretty darn good.

Think that's the consensus from everyone that saw both play in their primes. Think Lebron is equal or slightly ahead too in my opinion. Only 3 in that conversation from 1980 on.

Interesting that Jordan’s listed weight is lower than Kobe’s.

I always thought of him as bigger and stronger than Kobe. Probably due to their age difference.

Kobe was so eerily similar. The videos of them moving identically always get me.

“Only” a top 15 player all time though versus MJ being probably #1.

I'm a Jordan guy, always have been. But Kobe was the closest to MJ's game. This video package is a pretty good visual representation of that...

Still think Magic’s gotta at least be in the conversation. Unfortunate that his career was cut short which kept him from compiling a solid 5 years worth of numbers. But he was the ultimate winner, who could do it all.

1996-1998 Jordan looked to weigh quite a bit more than he did in his first run. And Wizards Jordan weighed more too.

Curious which years that listed weight was from.
