For as badly as others feel for him, and I echo those sentiments, this could be a saving grace. It's hard to imagine that he came to Syracuse with no history of concussions, but then again, we don't know and likely never will. More importantly above all else is that they are putting a halt to this before it got way worse. Kudos to our medical staff for discovering it and for AJ to sign the waiver. When I saw him on the sideline against CMU, he was all over the place encouraging his fellow teammates up, chatting with Hunt over on the bench and constantly communicating with the coaches. You could really tell that he was all-in even though he was wearing a visor and had no chance of going into the game after Dungey went down. That would not happen with most kids. With CTE and other football-based injuries becoming a bigger and bigger issue later in life, these things are nothing to joke around with. Hopefully they caught it far enough it advance so that he is not dealing with the horrible side effects for the rest of his life. The kid has the unwavering energy and passion to be a great recruiter, so hopefully he gets a chance to work with the coaches to start building his own profile up. Either way, wish the kid the best and it's easy to see why this kid will be a huge success in whatever he does with his life. This blows, but it is what it is. Good luck kid.
