Its only the Alabama's that can buy their way out of non conference road games. I'd assume this allows Bama to have 7 vs 6 home games whatever year this is scheduled for and the extra game generates more than 2 mil for their AD.

The game was never played due to the hurricane and the schools are now suing each other but even Miami (Florida) had a non conference road game scheduled @ Arkansas St last year.
