Arena football is one sport Albany generally did a good job supporting. It’s almost always ended poorly though. I went to a few Empire games before the AFL folded, and it was clearly a well run operation which attracted good crowds…seeing Brown implode a previously well run organization is disappointing.
My guess is the other owner knew at a sizable minority stake of 47.5%, Brown was going to create a disaster and sold his share to Brown so he didn’t lose his investment when Brown destroyed the team. I can’t see any road back to viability for the team from where it’s at now.
