Big blow for Albany I dont believe they much if any depth behind him. Russell was initially an SU commit but Syracuse wouldn't clear him due to chronic concussion issues I believe. Ben Williams could be in for another monster game tomorrow night.

Ya 43% in minimal time versus Williams who is nearly 70% against the top of Div 1. I like our chances

Umass-Lowell is a first year program, there are some people on this board who could win faceoffs against that team right now and Im not exaggerating. This is a huge blow for Albany, unlike ND I don't see anyway they can lose big at the X and still Win unless the Syracuse offense has the worst game of the year which based on Albany's defense is highly unlikely. If Staats wasn't still out Id actually like SU to win comfortably after this development. I still expect a close game but unless the Syracuse D has a nightmare performance and Riordan has the game of the century for Albany Syracuse should win.

A bit of both I think. If you have fastbreaks and other quick score opportunities you have to take them. On the other hand you don't want to be shooting on the first half decent look you get. As you noted Albany's only real chance at least on paper appears to be a shoot out. I think if your Syracuse you certainly don't want to become Maryland and stall but you want to get good possessions that result in high% looks. Not only does it keep the ball away from Lyle it will wear down an Albany defense that is not deep and just recently went to a true frosh.

It will be interesting to see how Desko and the staff to decide to game plan now that Russell is out.
