Alex Kline in this situation reminds me of Jason Beck on the football side when Dino Babers got fired, it's pretty obvious Kline is good at his job and will be good no matter what whether that is staying at Syracuse, go somewhere new in College or the NBA. The status of Alex Kline can't be the determining factor in who you hire next, but I'm sure the prospect of keeping Alex Kline does expand the candidate pool of guys who may have increased interest to come here to work with him. Alex strikes me as a very smart guy and I'm sure if he had full autonomy of the staff like he does pretty much with the roster now, the staff would look significantly different. I mean before they got Alex Kline, they recruited the slowest center in all of College Basketball when they wanted to run an up tempo, high possession style of play. It made no sense and that's not a knock at Eddie Lampkin because he's a dangerous player if you put him into a position to succeed, but it took the staff until the middle of February to slow the game down for him and see a better product.
