Finley had 35 carries for 34 yards this year. 1 touchdown rushing.  Dungey had 732 yards rushing.  15 rushing touchdowns.

Finley was 275 - 408 for 3380 yards and 21 TDs.  He had 8 interceptions.

Dungey was 205 - 341 for 2565 yards and 17 TDs.  He had 7 interceptions.

But NC State's OL was better.  Finley had 8 sacks on the season.  Dungey, a far stronger and more agile and athletic player, had 20.

As others have pointed out, NC State had an extraordinarily veteran group of talented WRs to throw to.  Much better than the rag tag group of mostly frosh WRs Eric was throwing to.

So Eric was responsible for 3297 yards of offense and 32 TDs. Ryan was responsible for 3414 yards of offense and 22 TDs.

Ryan has only played 11 games but Eric barely played against ND, one of the best defenses in college football, so the field is level there.

I will take the guy who did more with less.  I will take the guy who produced 10 more TDs.  I don't see how anyone can look at the numbers and think otherwise.

Also, NC State had 4 other players named 1st team all ACC on offense (2 OL and 2 WRs).  Dungey had no one from Syracuse named to the first team offense.
