There was some good... and some bad ... info in that other thread. As one who has had 27 years of experience with the BET, I probably know the ins and outs as well as anyone. Here are the answers for which you're looking. 1) If you buy tix from SU, they will be "strips" to all eight sessions (two on Tuesday-Thursday and one on Friday and Saturday). As each school gets a very limited number of tickets (do the math, 16 schools getting equal treatment in an 18,000-capacity arena), a large portion of the tix are in the 300s and 400s. 2) The best and cheapest way to "upgrade" seats is to buy tix from fans of losing teams as they are leaving MSG. If you are in the city, and have even the worst 400 seats, go to some of the early (non-SU) sessions shortly before they end. If for example, Nova loses a game, look for folks with Nova gear and offer to buy their remaining tix. Most times they are so disgusted, they will sell them for face or below -- even if they are very good seats. (All seats have the same face value ... courtside or 400s). 3) Be careful of obvious scalpers around MSG. Each year there is an epidemic of fake tix floating around. Also, do not buy a ticket for a session from someone who is leaving that session. Tickets are scanned and there is NO re-entry. 4) The team hotels are also a good place to buy tix from fans of losing teams. Do a little research, especially on the hotels around MSG. Find out where the teams are staying. 5) Here is an interactive seating chart at MSG as configured for the BET. Enlarge it, print a copy, and take it with you if you are buying tix. It will give you an idea of where the seats are located. http://www.stubhub.com/big-east-tournament-tickets/2012-big-east-conference-championship-3-10-2012-3154154/ 6) Good luck. It is one of the best sporting events in the nation. And well worth the effort to attend
