Alrighty sports fans, which school records fall this season?

Single game/season records....

My money is on a new high for single season passing yards.

What ya got?
I don’t think it is a done deal for Tommy to beat Ryan Nassib’s 3749 yards. He might, but I think the balanced offense Syracuse runs will make that tough.

I think a better bet is the mark for total yards of offense. I couldn’t find good records on this but I think the record is 6042 set by the team last year. That is definitely in jeopardy.

I think the total passing TDs in a season record of 26, also held by Ryan Nassib, is going to be easier from Tommy to get. But Dino likes to go to the run game in the red zone, so piling up passing TDs can be tough.

Matt Johnson threw for 4,946 yards and 46 TDs in a single season under Babers while still having a rushing attack that produced 2500 yards on the ground.

There's another gear to this offense we haven't even seen yet, and I think DeVito is going to be the driver.

I think you're right about this offense having another gear, but those will still be difficult numbers to get. Matt Johnson wasn't playing against P5 defenses.

It may be better to look at Baylor's numbers under Briles. Nobody passed for as many yards as Johnson but, during their best years, they routinely passed for more than Nassib's record in a conference not known for defense. I think TD has a great chance to get it, what I'm not sure about is if it's this year. RG3 passed for 3500 his first year as a starter and then just shy of 4300 the next year. It wouldn't surprise me if we saw the same type of trend from TD as he and his WRs get a full year to gell and mature together this year and then blow the roof off next year.

I think passing touchdowns has the best chance along with completion percentage.

I’ll bet you $100 contribution to the fine mess tailgate fund/charity that the passing yards record falls.

Consigliere this one’s for you
