An interesting yet depressing stat from today

After 3 of each team's possessions, we were winning TOP 11:58 to 5:26.

UVA won TOP for the game 32:11 to 27:49. Incredible to me that for the entire rest of the game we only had possession for 15 minutes. A horrible combination of UVA sustaining drives against our defense and our offense failing to sustain our own drives.

The D getting off the field has been a problem the last 7 years. That being said the D created 10 points today while giving up 17. The O created 14 points while giving up 7. And a lot of that was Dungey making something from nothing. We need to be able to score more points.

Last year I bitched because I thought our offense wasn't giving the D enough rest. Our time of possession was bad.

This year our TOP is worse...at least it was last time I checked after the USF game. Last year I blame the O..it was dysfunctional. This year I think it's the D not being able to get anyone's offense off the field...without giving up a drive or a score.

Yep. We're so used to seeing inept offense and pretty good D, we forget that a lot of what happened to our D today happens a lot to everyone.
