And the Heisman goes to...

It might be due to our relevance in college football as of late and lack of any SU candidates since McPherson, but it's been years since I have truly cared about the Heisman and it used to be such a big deal to me. I wasn't even 100% sure who the 4 finalists were until I saw it after the winner was announced.

McNabb finished 5th. That’s not too shabby. Received 13 #1 votes. Freeney finished 9th.

I thought Trask should've been higher. His numbers were pretty crazy. The Heisman has become way too much of a team success or NFL projection award.

yeah until he looked ROUGH in the cotton bowl

16 for 28 with 158 yards and 0 TDS and 3 INTs
One game shouldn't negate the rest. You can almost always find a bad game for a player. Smith had 3 catches for 22 yards against Arkansas. Although, that may have been because it was a blowout.

I really wish they would give it to the actual best player each year (I have no issue with Smith winning this year).

In 2009, Suh should have won it (and he finished fourth behind Ingram, Gerhardt and McCoy), for example.

Would be interesting to go back and re-do each year.

Yeah. Suh was a monster. He was throwing olineman around like they were his annoying kid brothers.

Was it me or was there no hype for this?
It would suck to win the Heisman the year you can’t drink VRBs and rip lines with Johnny Football after the ceremony.

Would rather miss the virtual invitation than take it home under these circumstances.

Think about the offensive talent Alabama gets year in and year out. Last year not only did they have Smith and Waddle, they also had Riggs and Jeudy. Wow. What I wouldn't give For one of those guys.

It's crazy and a testament to Saban how they went from a dominating defensive team to an offensive powerhouse over the decade.
