Amazing how many of these NYS players of the year have done little or nothing at the college level. NYS does a terrible job selecting the player of the year.

How many came to SU straight out of HS, 3? In retrospect, I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I remember at the time being bummed that we didn't get Maldonado but we got Reyes instead which worked out pretty well.

N/M I just did a quick search and saw that he's still in the NFL, filling in for Jovan Belcher after the suicide. Never realized he amounted to anything.

Did Leon Williams ever do anything at Miami?

He enjoyed quite a few free drinks at the expense of Nevin Shapiro. If that counts for anything. Yes, I'm jealous.

I don't know...I've read all of the posts about TR and his lack of size, speed, etc. it just seems to me that this is the type of kid you find a spot for, even if he never plays more than special teams. He seems like a kid who will give you everything, every play, and even on the scout squad would be a contributor. jMO.

If BC has room, they are going to offer him a Scholorship

If he can't get into Temple, according to rumor, how is he going to get into BC?

Man I forgot the name Sam Maldonado... Didn't he go to Maryland and want to transfer to Cuse or something like that? Did he transfer to Cuse? Can't remember...

Wow-i remember that we got Reyes and not him, but didn't know the story about Maldonado.

Not a very flattering picture of Tressel (who many on this board wished we could hire as HC).

As far as classes many schools make sure there are enough classes for their athletes to take that will keep them eligible but the story behind Robert Smith was even better, a pre-med student when Cooper was there he quit because they wouldn't let him pursue his studies the way he wanted to. Interesting story that I remember hearing Smith talk about when it had happened but just thought about it again after reading the Maldanado story.

I was thinking more about Tressel's integrity, telling a bald-faced lie right to the faces of Maldonado's parents.

The academic integrity of THE OSU has long been an issue, going back to the Andy Katzenmoyer scandal.

Why is Rouse getting no love from college coaches? I know his size is not ideal...but seems like he should still be drawing interest from e.g. the MAC.

I have never seen footage of him, saw him play once vs Rush Henrietta as a soph. Does anybody have his recent highlights? I can give you my opinion
